SYNOPSIS
Between Exile and Loss is a poetic short film created in collaboration between the young Sudanese poet and filmmaker-in-exile Motasim Morsal Adam (Teko)
and independent filmmaker David Fedele.
Filmed in secret on mobile phones as Motasim fled the war in Sudan, the film is composed entirely of footage and photographs captured during his journey through Sudan, Chad, Libya, Algeria and Morocco — much of it smuggled out from prisons and detention centres.
Between Exile and Loss transforms a journey of forced displacement into a lyrical meditation on memory, exile and the struggle to survive.
